Project Overview
The Starbuck Group was engaged on the Hurstbridge Line Duplication Project, supporting works between Greensborough and Montmorency as part of Victoria’s Big Build, Level Crossing Removal Program.
Delivered under an alliance including Acciona, Coleman Rail, WSP and Metro Trains Melbourne, the project involved duplication of key sections of track and associated rail infrastructure upgrades.
Scope of Works
- Cartage of approximately 6,500 tonnes of quarry materials to holding yards during pre-occupation works
- Bulk haulage and disposal of approximately 46,000 tonnes of rail ballast and clean fill
- Importation of structural fill, bottom ballast and top ballast for track reformation
- Support of occupation works across a 24/7 programme
- Coordination of material movements across multiple work fronts

Operating within tight possession windows and challenging conditions, Starbuck maintained consistent material movement to support programme delivery, contributing to the successful commissioning of duplicated track sections.
