Project Overview
In 2025, Starbuck Plant Hire marked its fourth consecutive year supporting the Australian Supercross Championship since its return in 2022, having been awarded the contract to source, stockpile, cart and supply approximately 5,200 m3 of approved clay for the construction of the Supercross racetrack.
Working closely with the event team, specialised track builders Protraxx, and long-time motocross industry veteran Trevor Brooks alongside his son Todd Brooks, Starbuck Plant Hire successfully completed the importation and delivery of all required materials within the scheduled timeframes. This process involved approximately 42 hours of continuous bulk haulage, with over 520 truckloads delivered directly into Marvel Stadium.
Due to Marvel Stadium’s suspended floor structure, the construction phase required vigilant monitoring of all truck and machinery movements to ensure full compliance with stadium safety requirements. This included strict adherence to approved weight limits and designated truck and machinery paths, as determined by the engineering design and the acrow prop distribution system supporting the completed track.
At the conclusion of the racing event, Starbuck Plant Hire once again worked alongside the track building team to undertake the full cart and dispose process, including the complete removal of the track materials. This process required approximately 20 hours of continuous work to complete.
Starbuck Plant Hire has been involved in numerous supercross and motocross events across Melbourne and consistently delivers complex bulk haulage and material management projects safely, efficiently, and ahead of schedule.
Scope of Works
- Sourcing and supply of approved Supercross track clay
- Off-site stockpiling and material handling and management
- Bulk haulage and delivery into Marvel Stadium
- Coordination of truck and machinery movements within a live stadium environment
- Cart and dispose of all track materials post-event
Key Challenges
Operating within a live stadium environment with a suspended floor structure, strict weight and access constraints, and compressed, non-negotiable event timeframes.
Safety & Compliance
All works were completed in full compliance with Marvel Stadium safety and engineering requirements, including strict adherence to approved load limits, access paths, and movement controls for all trucks and machinery.
